With four wins in a row in the Georgia Dome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came to Atlanta with focus on once again defeating the division-leading Falcons.
Falcons offense took the game a different direction with a quick start Michael Vick rushed for 76 yards, and had 176 yard passing, added to a rush of second-half sacks, the home team secured a 24-14 victory and a four-game lead over the Buccaneers in the NFC South. With their two-game winning streak snapped, the Buccaneers slid back to 3-6 and the fringes of the NFC playoff race. A postseason berth is still quite possible, but the path was made significantly more difficult by this games loss.
