The crows nest did spot a silver lining in Peyton Barber, who rushed for 85 yards and 1 touchdown on 19 carries. Additional black-powder was ignighted by defensive powerhouse Lavonte David, who racked up ten tackles.

Going into the second half the Buccaneers were facing the opportunity to suck the wind from the Saints sails, but they got a gust of confidence from a missed field goal, and blocking our punt.

Brees’ touchdown run put the Saints ahead early in the fourth quarter. Ingram scored on a 17-yard run to make it 14-28. Winston finished 18 of 38 for 213 yards, two touchdowns and one interception — an end-zone throw picked off by Marshon Lattimore with 1 second remaining.

The Buccaneers had 32 yards in the second half until Winston completed passes of 16, 12 and 21 to march into Saints territory on the final drive.

Penalties returned to hinder Tampa Bay, including an unnecessary roughness penalty on Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen late in the second quarter. The NFL fined Saints linebacker D. Davis $26,739 for unnecessary roughness. In the second quarter, Davis received a penalty for lowering his head to initiate contact when he tackled Buccaneers running back P. Barber after a 2-yard gain. Buccaneers center R. Jensen was not fined for his unnecessary roughness penalty in the game in which he had an extracurricular hit on Saints linebacker A. Anzalone.
