The win gives Tampa Bay a 7–5 record (5–1 on the road) and since the Redskins (6–4–1) lost, the Buccaneers took over the final wildcard spot. Also since the Falcons (7–5) lost, they are now tied with them atop the NFC South.

After the game, the Week 15 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys was flexed from a normal 1 p.m. kickoff to Sunday Night Football.
