How did the Bucs' fare on third downs in 2017?

In one respect very well, in another quite poorly and in at least one specific category, a little strangely.

In 2017, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored 86 points off takeaways. That's quite good! Only five teams in the NFL did better in that regard. Those same Buccaneers also turned the ball over 27 times on offense, and that's not very good at all. Only five teams gave it away more often.

2017 Player Recap

The cornerback Brent Grimes added three interceptions as the Tampa Bay defense finished the season with 26 takeaways, tied for the seventh-most in the NFL. Since the start of the 2016 season, the Buccaneers tied for fourth-most in the NFL with fifty-five takeaways. Thirty of those takeaways were interceptions, tieing for fifth-most interceptions in the league.

NFC South Remains NFL's Most Competitive Division

Per Scott Smith: Could the Bucs make a worst-to-first run in 2018, as one pundit suggests? The NFC South has a history of such occurrences but is also more competitive than any other foursome in the NFL
